I'm currently participating in a local band camp and my tuba is extremely sharp, the tuning slide is out all the way it can be without falling out, which it has a few times. at first I thought it was just because I have a mirafone TU-23 mouth piece in a Cervany tuba. so I was asking my private teacher who is also instructing the master class at the camp and we were trying to figure out what was wrong for about 20 minutes and then we noticed that the front half of the lead pipe isn't originaland the second half is, and the lead pipe is short compared to the other Cervany the school has. The lead pipe was just resodered though so I"m sure the band director isn't looking forward to hearing this, but is it possible that the lead pipe is to short and if it is, will they have to take it off and replace it with a longer one??? thanks,
