Jay,
What bore was this in-leadpipe 5th valve? The reason I ask is because the 5th is most often used for those multi-valve low register notes, which are more likely to get stuffy or sluggish as it is. Leadpipe location would require this valve to be no greater in bore than the 1st valve. I guess if you're talking .750" or greater it probably works ok.

Along those lines, has anyone had this concern with the Getzen CB/G-50? (5th valve is .687" or .689" bore I think) I've always wondered if this great horn would be even better w/ the 5th somewhere further down the line, especially considering the tight bend that slide makes. Is this why some folks removed the 5th entirely on this horn?

I'm certainly not debating whether the leadpipe 5th worked on your horn; As lots of us have probably pondered the option, I want to be sure of the possible trade-offs here.
