USC is a terrific tuba school because Tommy Johnson and Jim Self both teach there. There are also other world class tuba player / teachers in LA whom you can also take advantage of like Norm Pearson and Doug Tornquist. I am a USC grad and studied with Tommy Johnson. One of the best decisions of my life!
