One point of difference is in the maintainence of the horn. The silver plating needs to be polished periodically, but in general I think it is more durable and will last longer than lacquer. One negative point with silver is if you have to get repair work done to your horn, it is easier to get it relacquered than replated. I will agree with Pete though and add, they sure are pretty in silver! ken k
