It's been awhile since I've A/B'd these brands. I think most people in the know would acknowledge that the Hirsbrunners are made to much closer tolerances. I would be curious to hear other more specific reasons from either Tony or Scott regarding this issue. Granted, my abilities have changed a great deal since the last time I honked a Hirs but I don't recall sensing the laundry list of huge differences in quality/sound/playability between these two brands that both of your posts seem to imply.
