SITTING DOWN.
Once you've kicked yourself in the proverbial butt and removed yourself from the computer, TV, or any other diversions, and placed the horn in your lap, you'll be fine.
But as several other posters have said,
JUST DO IT!
If you truly love playing the tuba, you'll convince yourself to get over that initial hurdle of commencing your practice session. And, if you truly love playing the tuba, the rest will take care of itself.
