I've played a few Yorkbrunners and didn't fall in love with any of them. But then I'm not crazy about the Hirsbrunner tubas I've played either. For my tastes, the Nirschl York Copy is a better tuba and it costs considerably less. The Nirschl is the first tuba in that price range to really compel me to spend that kind of money. I can't give you an accurate evaluation of the new Yorkbrunners because all the models I've played were at or near 10 years old. I've heard from some that the new ones are a bit better, especially since they tweaked the design a while back. Anyhow, you should try these tubas for yourself rather than relying on what others say about them. What works for you is the whole point of the search...

My opinion for what its worth...
