I've had my Dennis Wick 3 for 5 years and play on it 3 or 4 times a week for 2 hours. It still looks like brand new and shows no sign of gold wear. I also have a gold Dennis Wick 4 which I played on for 6 years, again, it looks like new. I think the wear has more to do with the PH factor of one's salyva (sp?).
