If memory serves, there was an article about this in the Journal twenty years ago. It listed several afflictions caused by playing particular instruments, e.g., violinists' neck, bassoon jaw, trombone thumb.
For us, it was the weakening of the left eye caused by having the bell in front of the it while the right eye remained stronger adjusting for distances, ergo, "tuba eye."
