I have the same problem - good vision in the left eye, but because I developed amblyopia ("lazy eye syndrome") as a child and it wasn't corrected then, I actually use only my right eye for reading, including music. But my right eye is also nearsighted. I wear bifocals, but in order to read the top of a page of music, I have to tilt my head back, which makes it hard to play. I got the optician to make a pair of glasses for playing which have the same prescription across the entire lens as the lower (reading) part of my bifocals. So I can read the music easily, but in band the director is a little out of focus (visually, not mentally).I put my regular glasses on when he's talking or during breaks. I'm sure those around me wonder why I am constantly changing glasses.
