To all:
I just picked up a York Eb tuba off of ebay not to long ago and my question is: has anyone taken horn like this (19" bell 33" tall 3 upight valves) and turned it into a 5 valve front action horn (4p/1r). The horn has a very good sound but is in need of an overhaul and a valve job. I don't need it in any hurry so I thought I might enterain this option. I don't want to "adjust" the pitch of the horn I feel it plays well enough in Eb and it would make an interestin compliment to my 6/4 CC. I don't know the fingerings down pat but they aren't that hard (I played F fine for many years). Has anyone even seen this done to a horn. I've got an email in with Matt at Dillon's but seeing as he is not in any condition to respond just yet I though I might probe other BBSer's.

Thanks in advance.

Matt G
