I currently own a Yamaha 631 which I like a lot. It suits me in terms of bore and playability and I really like the large finger buttons. By suiting me I mean that it just feels comfortable to blow air through the horn - kind of a personal thing I guess. My former bandmates and I did find that it played very sharp compared to a B&H Imperial Eb we had, but it does play very in tune with itself (i.e. the compensation works as intended).
On the other hand, way back in high school I had the chance to play a B&H Imperial Eb for three years - nicest sounding tuba I have ever played. I wonder how Klaus feels about the old B&H's compared to the newer Besson horns (I know your opinions on the relative euph's has been well stated).
