I can testify to the effectiveness of 3-in-1 oil. I use it often on my Cervany piggy at the ball joints, and it works famously.

Also check to see if there is any play in the actual valves themselves. My horn is older, and the valves have worn just enough to move up & down (front to back?) in the casing. The remedy for that noise is to remove the screw-on plate from the back of the valve, and put a drop of oil on the end of the spindle. Then put a drop of oil on the front spindle between the casing and the collar. You can do all of that without disassembling your valves. Note: use only one drop. Any more gets on your neoprene or cork stops, and deteriorates them.
