The problem with nickel palted pistons is, that any breach of the surface opens up for a peeling-off of the plating. And any exposing of the underlying brass will invite a corrosion, that will raise and then break off the nickel layer.

If the problem is the emptying process, then you rather might need a lengthening devise for your left arm. Even without such one I can depress the valves with the fingers of my left hand, while I use the right hand to pull the slides. And the bodies of our York Master’s are identical.

However: If you really want to went your specimen, then one of the high rate repairmen, that you mentioned, is a confessed owner and player of a York Master. If you do not go too public, then your tuba might get a late night secret date with him.
