I've been considering retrofitting one of Frieder's "German Machine" (from die Tuba) parts sets to an old clockspring action rotary-valve tuba. The parts set runs about $450, according to Frieder.
What's the consensus on the quality of the parts? Might I be better off using a different manufacturer's key-and-linkage assembly?
