Try Malecki Music. They have a decent Web Site that you can order this book from, and an 800 number for ordering. If they don't have it, they can get it quickly if it is still in print.

Unfortunately, newer copies of this book do not have the forward by the author (composer). Its one of the more unique introductions that I have read. For those of you who haven't seen this, this is the forward in the Tyrrell book:

"Bass players often contend they have been reglected because their repertoire does not contain any sound practical works which they can use for individual practice, after having learned to play moderately well. For these players the author has written this work, having actually devised all the exercises on the instrument itself.

"To become acquainted with these exercises each one should be played slowly at first. The player will thus familiarize himself with the compass reading, difficult or harmonic fingering and the art of breathing. Having mastered these he can devote himself to metronomic tempi.

"Some bass players have, in the author's experience, shown little interest in private practice, as the ordinary bass part is usually not very inspiring. These studies should, therefore, prove as interesting pastime for any player of ordinary ability."
