I always put my horn in the back seat with a seat belt on it. I can't save it in a crash anyway, and it keeps it from flying forward and denting my head. In the trunk, a rear-ender would smash it, and in the front, a head-on would smash it. It might still get smashed in the back seat, but I think the odds are better.
