uh, come to think of it, my tennis partners (at least the ones who beat me badly) aren't tuba players. ;^) ...which seems to be proven out in the posts below.

Related to the "Inner Game of Tennis" book (see Sam G's posts below) I believe that tennis requires pure concentration, control (yet expression) of emotions, BREATHING DEEP BREATHS, "seeing yourself from outside yourself" (self-analysis separated from self-criticism - ESSENTIAL in becoming an extraordinary musician), subtile differences in motion offering marvelous or disasterous consequences, and precise repetition of physical skills - yet in mulititudes of situations.

I LOVE racquetball too (and other air conditioned "sports" ;^/ ), but unless you're playing REALLY amazing racquetball players (Indeed Memphis is a haven for them, and I am in awe.) a "bad" shot can end up being a "winner". This is hardly ever the case in tennis and NEVER it tuba-ing.
