The horn's more than 15 years old, as Miraphone went to the ball-and-socket linkage in the 70's.

There are a few places that may require attention to quiet things down. Certainly start with the bumpers if they're hard. You can use cork, vacuum cleaner belt, O-rings or whatever you feel might work.

Next, check the adjustment screws in the valve bottom caps. These can be adjusted to minimize up-and-down play in rotors which sometimes results in noise.

There should be small nylon washers at the valve end of the S-arms. These can get worn and start kicking up noise. The remedy is replacement.

It couild be that the pivoting parts on the spatula ends have developed side play. These can be gently swaged to eliminate play.

Another source of noise is the valve bearings themselves. This is one for a pro.

If it's the linkage, you may want to look into replacing the S-arms with ball-and-socket linkages. This has been covered in other posts.
