As mentioned below, the easiest way from Detroit to Toronto would be driving it yourself. About 3 and a half hours each way, and you could probably do it on a single tank of gas. Aside from that, Southern Ontario has some of the best railway transportation in the world... you could ship it via VIA Rail(or even bring it yourself via VIA rail, which I believe goes straight into Detroit, but I may be mistaken) for less than it'd cost to send something Amtrak... otherwise, you could ship it through Voyageur/Greyhound. Bringing it yourself would save you the potential hassle of shipping something of value across the border... at the very least, you could drive over the Ambassador bridge and ship it from the nearest Voyageur terminal.
