Let me just say this; What I saw in the leadpipe, that you made yourself, was the elegance of a French horn leadpipe rather than the "plumbness" of a certain Eb tuba well known to me. "Picturely" spoken. In real terms: If you had wanted to, I am sure it would have been no tech problem for you to give the leadpipe a faster expansion with a more barrel-like profile.
