and if that is true:
1) the kid is naive at best to ignore his body's revolt against abuse
2) at best the band director is just naive, at worst a negligent idiot
who s/b ratted out to the district's board for allowing this kid further risk
3) "your mileage may vary" (stated because some people refuse to consider reason)
