I just received a set of the Bruckner symphonies with Takashi Asahina conducting the Osaka Philharmonic. These were recorded live in the mid-90s.

If any of you can get ahold of these, I strongly suggest it. The interpretations are incredible and the brass playing was frankly much better than I expected, not knowing anything about this orchestra. However, the tuba playing stood out as the gem of the brass section. The tubist had a big, rich sound that really impressed me.

Does anyone know who this player is and does this player use the famed Yorkaha (Yamayork)?
