I'm a Junior tubist in high school planning to be a performance major, and I've recently stumbled across a bit of a dilemma that I've been worried about. If there's anything that I've ever prided myself on, it's my warm, round, tone quality - - I'm not a very technical player, and that's what had seperated me and put me in the top chairs of all-district and state... but as of late, whenever I play two notes (the A on the first space and the B flat just above it) a little too loud, I get some sort of bizarre double buzz/growling sound. It isn't overblowing; I've done my share of that in marching band. I'm wondering if it's an embrochure problem, or I'm just giving it a little too much gusto, or what. Can anyone help me???
