Actually, I did, and I had several other people check it out with me. The difference in tone and the subjective difference in response was not huge, but it was perceptible to others. There was no perceptible change with fiberglass sousaphones (early Conns), but the difference with Reynolds, Conn, and King brass Sousas could be heard to the others, and not only with me playing them. Again, the difference was not major, but it was there.
