I just got done with a lesson, and I recommend anyone in the mid and western Michigan area take a lesson with Monty. He plays with the Grand Rapids Symphony, and teaches at a handful of colleges around the area. He is humble and softspoken, but a truly inspiring musician. I've taken a few lessons with him over the years, and it seems the more ready I am to learn, the more he has to teach. Today's lesson ran over two hours and covered a lot of stuff. He has such a thorough knowledge of the rep, and a patience for the learning process. I feel so fortunate to have a chance to deal with him.
Hats off to an outstanding musician!
