Not to kick a dead horse but the CB 50 now the GB 50 was used in Brass Theater with the Canadian Brass with the aid of shoulder straps. I have seen IUP and a couple other well known college and high school bands use harness mounted King 2341 with sousa bells for marching also. Sousaphones are not as efficient in a marching situation than a shoulder mounted horn. If you are marching in a block playing straight ahead than a sousaphone is great but if movement is required the shoulder horn is a better fit plus a shoulder horn usually weighs less than a Sousaphone unless it is fiberglass or the like. Marching with a straped tuba infront of you is much more difficult with all the weight in front of you than across your shoulder. That would be a situation were the tuba would be a detriment.
