Probably no long-term damage, but I have learned (yes, the hard way) that I cannot leave my Hirsbrunner CC (5 rotary valves*) in the car for much time at all (in even a moderate inside-parked-car temperature) without the valves seizing up and being completely immovable until the temperature of the horn drops again. So with this horn it is a situation I avoid.
* Built for European climates!
Extra lubrication would be recommended.
