Bohm & Meinl 5/4 CC. 4-piston, 1-long whole-step rotor, .750" bore 20" bell, great valves, very good scale and really good low-notes. Built in the Nirschl factory, this is one of Fred Marzan's designs with main slide on the left hand, easy access to valve slides on top as well as bottom. This horn has NONE of the intonation quirks typical to the B&M factory CC's. It was cut to CC by Bob Rusk (Milwaukee Symphony) after selecting a really great, in-tune new tuba to work with. He also added a different large lead pipe, old Holton or York LARGE MP receiver, a hand-hammered bottom bow guard, and the 5th valve. If you're shopping for a VERY free-blowing 5/4 orchestral/band tuba with an American/York flavor of sound, this may be for you. It is not inexpensive at 6500 dollars US, located in California close to the San Jose International Airport. Please e-mail if interested.
Reason for selling? This horn fits right between my PT4P and my 6/4 Holton, and while I find myself using it most of the time for ALL of my playing, I really should be using my smaller horn for BQ and the BAT for band/orchestra.
