Hi, Chuck;

Good point. You're correct, I am interested in a specific genre! I'm basically (bass-ically) interested in learning Klezmer bass parts for a Community Klezmer Orchestra that is in operation locally. I'm just into it for the fun.
I think a helicon would be a great instrument to play in this kind of setting, and I've found two BBb horns, both needing work. One's a WWI Boosey, and the other's a King, probably from the 1910-1920 era, give or take a decade!
I see there are alot of good deals to be had for Eb sousaphones, so that's why I was asking about BBb vs. EEb. There's Reynolds and Conn and Buescher Eb horns I've come across - some of the Eb horns have four valves - will this take them into the BBb range?
Any comments welcome, except the obvious "stick to percussion, marimbaboy!" ;p
