I bought some weights years ago from Chuck McAlexander, an excellent repairman in New York City. He had them made to fit different shanks and sold them for about thirty dollars each. I used it for several years on a light weight conn-helleberg mouthpiece. It seemed to help hold the sound together at loud dynamics. I did not find it as effective on normal or heavy weight mouthpieces. I no longer have his phone number, but you might find his name in the archives. Good luck.
