For other coin options which might be more available in the US, you have:
1. The new dollar coin - I haven't seen one, don't know the size - total cost $4
2. Canadian "Loonies" ($1 CDN with a picture of a loon), 1 in. in diameter - total cost $2.67 US
3. Canadian "Twonies" ($2 bi-metallic coin), 1 1/8 in. diameter - total cost $5.33 US
Just some thoughts - I haven't seen many Danish coins on this side of the Atlantic lately, and the Canadian banks won't handle currency conversions involving coin, but these coins might be found floating around (especially near the border).
