I have a special block (we have block scheduling and its great) that I arranged to practice in everyday because we arent allowed to practice during study hall and the band room is full of little kids during other times. Technically I am a teacher's aid for the band director and answer the phone about once a day. Other than that its practice time. When people come along they ask what I am doing, I say practicing and they say "cool," most of the time. If and when they ask why I say because its better than taking something that gives you homework (because lay ppl understand that concept). Kids here are pretty cool, so even if i said its because I like playing tuba they would think that is cool.
