I've often wondered if one could utilize some sort of bell-reducing device to emulate opheclide tone; A not-too conical device with a small bell that you would place into the stock bell like a mute, but the outer perimeter of the device would have a seal (rather than cork spacers) to route all sound through the small bell. This would probably work real well with a smaller horn that isn't too big after the bottom bow.

Maybe I shoulda applied for a patent before sharing that . . .

Can anyone out there share the specific bore & taper parameters of the last 2-1/2 feet of a typical opheclide?
