This might be of interest to some of you:
On April 19,1958 at a meeting of "The Loyal Order of S---P--- and Amalgamated
Loyal Sons of McSorleys Marching Clam Chowder Band", during the formal part of
the meeting before the libations, President Bill Bell gave this report:" If I
had the opportunity to begin my career, I would choose to go with one of The
Premier Military Service Bands." After the meeting Pres. Bill Bell suggested to
2 recent members of the N.Y.Philharmonic, if a vacancy occurs in any of the
Premier Service Band- apply for the position.

Respectfully
George. Blahun.U.S.Coast Guard Band(ret.)
Charter member of The Loyal Order of S---P--- and Amalgamated Loyal Sons of
McSorelys Marching Clam Chowder Band.

P.S. A reunion is in the progress for all members and past members at McSorleys.
