They both are very good tubas though after playing a Hirsbrunner HB-2P for 8 years (3 years in school and 5 years professionally) I sold it to buy a MW 2155. The main reason was for the overall sound. The HB-2P sounds nice by itself but can get lost very easily in the orchestra. The 2155´s sound has much more presence, depth and clarity and can always be heard in the orchestra with what I feel is a nicer sound. I also feel that I can produce alot more of what I feel is a better controlled sound as well. 2 good tubas; though after playing the HB-2P for 8 years and the 2155 for over 4 years I prefer the 2155. I just bought a 6/4 sized tuba and need something smaller than the 2155 so I need to sell it. Too bad I´m not ruch because I do really hate to have to sell it. I´m asking $6,900 with a German flight case, Altieri bag and I´ll pay shipping within the cont. US. If you want a great 4/4 sized tuba that can cover alot of ground with a great sound then I do recommend the MW 2155. Just 1 guys opinion...... Good luck!
