All pro's play the 2900 with the european shank. They just say it plays better overall and has better response and intonation and projection.
The 2950 is just bigger and I don't know of a pro anywhere that plays it. In europe they play the 2900 with the bass shank instead of the european shank.
It is all choice. the 2900 sells way more than the 2950.
