reminds me of a life story from about a year ago:

I was running my own consulting business at the time, and one of my projects was to upgrade the software a local two branch bank was running on. It was an all night project, and the bank VP told me that he would get the janitor out of my way, since my work was more important. I told him that the janitor's work was just as important as mine - if the floors were filthy and the garbage cans overflowing, nobody would want to bank there and they would take their money elsewhere. Then, it wouldn't matter what kind of computers the bank had. He agreed with me, and the janitor and I politely stayed out of each other's ways as much as possible so we could each get our work done.

moral: EVERYBODY in EVERY job is important!
