At the World Expo here (Brisbane) in '88, toward the end of the expo, the tuba players had no respect left for their sousas (don't know if they had any in the first place though), so after a set, they took them off, placed the round the body bit on the ground then let them fall the rest of the way to the ground. On one of the last days, when the band was marching past the river stage (which was lined with flag poles) a loud "CLANG" was heard. One of the sousa accidently hit one of the first flag poles. The rest of the flag pole hitting was deliberate!
