You could always play a school F tuba for a year or so. (I take it you haven't learned F yet). Then, a few years down the line, you purchase your own F. I didn't buy my F tuba until I was a sophomore in college. Now I'll start my masters and I'm on my second and final F tuba. Take some time to pay off your CC tuba, and then buy an F. It'll give you the opportunity to really learn your big horn, and feel comfortable doing almost aything with it, which is pretty important. Then, by the time you've totally figured out your CC, you can begin to figure out a new F. Oh.. and never rule out buying a used tuba. You can find real gems that may not work for other people, but may be a perfect match for you. I bought my CC tuba used, and I will never sell it for anything. And I bought my F tuba new, as I've never played another one like this. Bottom line... be patient, and you'll figure things out.
