What are you comparing the MPC to? Isn't the pt-50 the largest cup of that line of PT American style MPC's? I think you can check the numbers at the Custom Music website or just call them. Neal Campbell is a good guy to talk to, as well as Jeff Rideout.
It could be the horn, too. I played on the 50 for years and really liked it. That was on a Kalison DS CC. Now, playing in the Air Force on a 6/4 Hirschbrunner, it does not 'fit the mold' as well.
The same can be said for my small MPC. I played on a PT-65 or a PT-44 for a long time, but after getting new stuff, I found other MPC's that fit better. so, now it is just the Laskey 30-H and the Mirafone C-4. Add a dash of Marcinko-wits (I can never remember the spelling) Tommy Johnson for good measure and we are on our way.
