That is true, but I am assuming that the original poster does not live in Germany. If he did, he probably would not have started on BBb. If, as I suspect, he is an American, I think it would be a rough road to take, playing in college (in all ensembles --including concert band) exclusively with an F tuba. Expectations of a tuba player in America, are different than in Europe.
