I have been playing a Kalison DS for several weeks now (recently bought for my studio) and I have had hours and hours on it, noticing some quirky things come up with that horn. I am still working my way around it, but I've noticed this particular horn requires little if any slide adjustments, by that I mean I usually have a quarter inch or two out here and there on a yamaha 641, Cerveny Piggy, etc., but for some reason it is a little unnerving to have so little to work with. Speaking of mouthpieces, I have used a Marc...3, C-Helleb. 7b, and some offshoot mpiece similar to a 24AW, just for comparisons, and it doesn't "lock in" nearly as well as the Monette 98 I use. Perhaps the monette is large for the size horn, but it does center core pitches better. JM2CW.

p.s. I have a colleague who plays the Kalison 2000 and loves it (as does the entire military band delegation, evidently :o) )
