The reputation that Kalisons have has been earned over the years. However, the K2001 is a very different beast than anything Kalison has done before. It is a very responsive and in-tune instrument that would handle just about any CC situation you put it in. The problem is that there are other horns in a lesser price range that deliver an equivalent package.
The answer to your question is: it depends. What are your performance goals? Will you want to resell later? What is your budget?
The K2001 is an excellent horn. Is it in the same league with a good PT6? Probably not, but at $3K less, it is definitely worth a look. Don't dismiss it on somebody else's word; play one for yourself and make the decision.
