"Rick "who has no idea how one reads piano music at sight" Denney"

I am one rightfully feeling with you!

Yet there is one instrument harder to sightread: classical guitar, which demands very intense planning of the distribution of the fingers on both hands.

And then there were the "Russian horn" ensembles.

A modern equivalent is a handbell ensemble. I am not the greatest fan of their sonic output.

But I once watched a senior citizens handbell choir. The heavy bells playing roots on the beat were allocated to the less elderly males (I might fit in there). Whereas the odd off-off-beat melody notes were played by the smaller bells allocated to the frailer and very much less youngish ladies. Actually I was impressed by the coherence of the ensemble.
