I have to play the ouverture to Lohengrin of an upcoming college placement audition. I have listened to a few recordings of this and one orchestra seems to almost ghost the quarter note after the whole note in 4-5 bars after "2" and again four bars later. I think it sounds better this way but I wanted to know if you guys had any input as to why this is done (and whether or not to do it myself) becasue there is no notation on my part as to this.

Also, vibrato or no vibrato (especially in the higher statement)? I am leaning to no vibrato becasue of the setting in the sensemble in unison with the bones, but, that first statement sure is pretty with it.

Thanks
Charlie
