When I was in high school, I made a t-bone mouthpiece from an old car axle. Problem was, it had a tendency to rust, so it didn't get used much. Didn't really know much about tapers and bores back then, so I just went for it until it looked good. Got an 'A' for the quarter in metal shop as well.
