you have thre types of minor scales:natural harmonic and melodic
to get the natural (which is your basic minor scale) take the major key you're in and wither go up a major 6th or down a minor third (ex. Cmajor up a 6th is an A)
play the scale using the key of the major and starting on the 6th or minor 3rd
(using that same example
Cmajor C D E F G A B C
A minor A B C D E F G A )
do it the same for all keys
for harmonic minor raise the 7th scale degree
- A harmonic minor A B C D E F G# A
for melodic minor raise the 6th and 7th on the way up the scale and lower them back down
- A melodic minor A B C D E F# G# A A G F E D C A
when you come back down you have a natural minor scale
