I don't know if that was the largest tuba that they ever made, but the 36J models that I have seen have been about the same size as the 2XJs. They had 4 front action standard valves and a 36" recording bell. Conn had a habit of reusing the same model numbers for different horns though, and there may have been more than one 36J model. Plenty of people are playing on Conn 3XJ and 2Xj tubas today, although not usually in professional settings.

The largest York and Martin tubas that I have seen were larger than any of the standard big Conns. Many of the 6/4 sized orchestral tubas in use today are similar in size to these horns, although usually with an upright bell with a smaller diameter.
