It's amazing to note how this tuba is configured almost identically to the Grand Rapids York BBb's that the USN used at one time. 'Makes me wonder which one came first. My USN York is ~1913. I'm sure their similarity is not a coincidence.

Except for the 4th valve wrap, and a tuning donut, the York is REAL similar. Offset 4th valve (lower in the cluster), top bow a bit higher than the 2341, identical strap rings, etc. I suspect that your King has a bigger bore, and therefore plays better in "stock" condition. I re-valved mine to .687" bore. I have photos available, but no site to host 'em. Let me know if you want to see.

Another frequenter of this BBS has TWO of the Yorks of which I speak, but I can't seem to find his site now...
